2025 Government of TaiwanICDF Scholarship For International Students (Fully Funded)

Taiwan ICDF Scholarship for higher education has developed undergraduate, graduate and Ph.D. programs in cooperation with renowned partner universities in Taiwan.

The Government of Taiwan Scholarship is a fully funded opportunity for international students that provides generous financial coverage including airfare, accommodation, tuition, and a monthly stipend of NT$20,000.

Government of TaiwanICDF Scholarship 2025 Details:

The International Higher Education Scholarship Program, central to the TaiwanICDF, offers full scholarships to outstanding students from partner countries to pursue higher education in Taiwan through collaborations with local universities. 

The goal of the TaiwanICDF Scholarship is to support the socio-economic growth of partner countries through the cultivation of highly talented individuals. This program also enhances the internationalization of Taiwan’s universities and expands Taiwanese youth’s global perspective. 

Since 1998, the TaiwanICDF has collaborated with partner universities in Taiwan to establish the Taiwan International Cooperation Alliance (TICA), creating an operational platform to leverage and optimize the scholarship program under this TICA framework.

Government of Taiwan Scholarship 2025 Requirements:

To be considered for the Government of Taiwan Scholarship, you must:

  • Be a citizen of a country on the List of Countries Eligible for TaiwanICDF Scholarship, and satisfy any specific criteria established by his or her country and/or government of citizenship.
  • Neither be a national of the Republic of China (Taiwan) nor an overseas compatriot student. 
  • Satisfy the admission requirements of the partner university to which he or she has applied to study under a TaiwanICDF scholarship.
  • Be able to satisfy all requirements for a Resident Visa (Code: FS) set by the Bureau of Consular Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and an Alien Resident Certificate (ARC) set by the Ministry of the Interior, of the ROC (Taiwan) government (this means that the TaiwanICDF has the right to revoke a scholarship offered if an applicant cannot satisfy the visa requirements).                                               

Government of TaiwanICDF Scholarship Duration and Reward

Entitlements: The total TaiwanICDF Scholarship, including airfare (round-trip), housing, tuition, credit fees, insurance, textbook costs, and a monthly allowance will be provided by the TaiwanICDF to each student within his/her given award period. The scholarship is itemized as follows:

  • Airfare: The TaiwanICDF shall arrange your most-direct flights to and from Taiwan with Economy Class tickets. 
  • Housing: All students must reside in the student dormitories.
  • Tuition fee: The TaiwanICDF will cover the tuition fee as required by the student’s university. 
  • Credit fees: Credit fees vary with the number of credits registered. Credit fees will also be covered as required by the student’s university.
  • Insurance: While in Taiwan, in addition to the mandatory student safety insurance set by the Ministry of Education, each student must be insured for accidental and necessary medical coverage. Insurance fees will be covered for the entire duration of the program.
  • Book costs: Purchasing textbooks as required by the instructors shall be subject to the approval of the director of the student’s institute 
  • Allowance:
    • Undergraduate’s Program: Each student shall receive NT$15,000 per month during the period of the program as allowance for food and miscellaneous living expenses. The sum will be deposited monthly into the student’s local bank account. 
    • Master’s Program: Each student shall receive NT$18,000 per month during the period of the program as allowance for food and miscellaneous living expenses. The sum will be deposited monthly into the student’s local bank account.
    • Ph.D. Program: Each student shall receive NT$20,000 per month during the period of the program as allowance for food and miscellaneous living expenses. The sum will be deposited monthly into the student’s local bank account.

Required Documents for Government of TaiwanICDF Scholarship

All Undergraduate Programs only accept applications submitted by citizens of allied countries of ROC(Taiwan). 

  • A photocopy of the applicant’s passport or other document showing proof of nationality.
  • A photocopy of the applicant’s highest-level diploma and academic transcripts.
  • A photocopy of applicant’s English proficiency certificate.
  • Two letters of reference. 5
  • Any other documents specifically requested by an ROC (Taiwan) Embassy/ Consulate General/ Representative Office.                    

How To Apply for Government of TaiwanICDF Scholarship 2025 (Step-by-Step)

  • To apply for the ICDF Scholarship, complete the online application form available on the TaiwanICDF Scholarship online application system.
  • Upload all required application materials through the online system.
  • Similarly, each applicant is allowed to apply for only one program at a time. Applicants must submit a separate program application directly to their chosen universities.
  • Applicants must also fulfill the document requirements of the TaiwanICDF partner schools to which they are applying.
  • Moreover, the ROC (Taiwan) Embassy/Consulate General/Representative Office is the point of contact for applicants. They will conduct an initial review based on the eligibility criteria and selection standards set by the Taiwan ICDF.
  • Make sure to apply before the deadline for the ICDF Scholarship Program.
  • The deadline to apply for the Taiwan ICDF Scholarship Program is 15 March 2025.
