Scholarship Details:

To qualify for the Nankai University Scholarships, you must:

• Be a non-Chinese citizen in good health, at least 18 years old (born before September 1, 2007).
• Have a senior high school diploma with a strong academic record.
• Provide proof of Chinese language proficiency, such as an HSK Level 4 certificate with a score of at least 180.
• Meet the requirements set by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China.

Benefits:

• Chinese Government Scholarships: Covers tuition, accommodation, medical insurance, and a monthly living allowance.
• International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship: Provides tuition exemption, accommodation, insurance, and a living allowance.
• Tianjin Government Scholarship: Offers tuition assistance.
• “Study-at-NKU” President Scholarship: Provides support for tuition, accommodation, or living expenses.

Required Documents:

To apply, you need to submit the following documents:

• Application form
• Valid passport (valid beyond September 1, 2026)
• Notarized highest degree certificate (with translations if needed)
• Official high school transcripts (with translations if needed)
• Personal statement (in Chinese or English)
• HSK Level 4 certificate (minimum score: 180)
• Recommendation letter (in Chinese or English)
• Additional academic materials (awards, certificates, publications)
• Physical Examination Record for Foreigners
• Proof of financial capability
• Non-criminal record affirmation

Application Process:

1. Create an account and complete the application form through the Nankai International Students Application System.
2. Upload the required documents and pay the application fee (400 RMB).
3. Applications will be evaluated by Nankai University, and successful applicants will be invited for an assessment in March, April, or May 2025.
4. The top 20% of candidates from the assessment will be recommended for either the Chinese Government Scholarship or the “Study-at-NKU” President Scholarship.
5. Admission decisions will be communicated starting in June 2025.
