🔍 Overview

The University of Glasgow is offering up to 30 fully funded scholarships for the 2025/26 academic year under its Sanctuary Scholarship program. These scholarships are specifically for students who have faced forced displacement and are now residing in the UK under humanitarian or asylum schemes.

 

✅ What the Scholarship Covers

• Full tuition fee waiver for the entire study period
• Annual stipend of £5,000 to support study-related expenses
• University accommodation for those who cannot access public funds

 

👤 Who Can Apply?

To be eligible for the Sanctuary Scholarship, applicants must:

1. Hold a firm conditional or unconditional offer for full-time study at the University of Glasgow for 2025/26.
2. Fall under one of the following categories:
• Have applied for asylum in the UK.
• Be in the process of appealing a negative asylum decision.
• Have been granted Refugee Status, Humanitarian Protection (HP), or Discretionary Leave (DL).

OR be in the UK under any of these resettlement schemes:

• UK Resettlement Scheme (UKRS)
• Afghan Citizens Resettlement Scheme
• Afghan Relocations and Assistance Policy (ARAP)
• Syrian Vulnerable Persons Resettlement Scheme (VPRS)
• Ukraine Sponsorship Scheme (Homes for Ukraine)
• Ukraine Family Scheme

Follow these steps to apply:

1. Secure an offer from the University of Glasgow for a full-time program starting in September 2025.
2. Once you have your offer, go to the University of Glasgow Sanctuary Scholarship page.
3. Click on the "Apply Now" button to start your scholarship application.
4. Deadline to apply: May 1, 2025, at 11:00 PM (UK time). Late applications will not be accepted.
