About the Hatfield Lioness Scholarship 2025

Hatfield College at Durham University offers the Hatfield Lioness Scholarship to support academically talented women from developing countries where access to higher education is limited. This initiative was launched in 2018 to celebrate 30 years of women students at Hatfield College. The scholarship is funded by alumni, friends of the College, and other supporters.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for the 2025 Hatfield Lioness Scholarship, applicants must:

• Be female and a national of a developing country (as specified on the application page).
• Have applied for and received an unconditional offer for a master’s programme at Durham University by June 2025.
• Not be receiving any other scholarship for postgraduate studies.
• Meet all academic entry requirements, including holding a relevant honours degree and meeting the English language requirement.
• Not already hold a master’s degree.
• Lack the financial means to fund a master’s degree in the UK independently.

Scholarship Benefits

The Hatfield Lioness Scholarship provides:
